Keysight’s Z9500A SimulationView is a modular software platform designed to support the full lifecycle of Electronic Warfare (EW) system development. Serving as the core of Keysight’s Electronic Warfare Advanced Simulation Platform (EWASP), SimulationView empowers engineering teams to design, simulate, and validate high-fidelity RF environments across early software-based testing and advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) configurations.
At its core, SimulationView provides a scalable, plug-in based architecture that grows with program needs. It supports everything from mission data file validation and frame-based emitter behavior to real-time RF streaming and signal injection—allowing teams to fly the mission before the mission.
Scalable Simulation and HIL Integration
SimulationView supports incremental build-up from software-only environments to full HIL testbeds. Through seamless integration with Keysight signal generators (e.g., UXG and M9484C VXG-C), teams can evolve their test setups without overhauling the simulation environment. This flexibility is key for programs that require validation across phases, platforms, and mission types.
The platform allows real-time streaming of RF scenarios and digital signal injection directly into the system under test (SUT), enabling both benchtop and full-lab validation with synchronized control and analysis tools like the UXR oscilloscope.
Mission Data File Verification (MDFV)
One of the most valuable plugins in SimulationView is the Mission Data File Verification (MDFV) plugin, which automates regression testing by comparing SUT responses against known truth data from the scenario. MDFV flags missed or incorrect detections without interrupting playback and supports use cases like pre-flight validation, post-mission debriefing, and routine test cycles. Visual pass/fail indicators and PPI overlays help teams localize issues faster and reduce manual review workloads.

When used in tandem with Keysight hardware like the VXG-C or UXG generators and the UXR oscilloscope, it enables synchronized, high-density simulations with pulse-on-pulse capability, Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) measurement, and IQ data playback.
